OC OFFICIALS MEET JAPANESE CONSULOxnard College Interim President Michael Gregoryk and other OC representatives attended a June 27 World Affairs Council reception at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo to welcome Masaharu Kohno, the newly appointed Southern California Consul General of Japan.
More than 100 members of the Ventura County business and education communities were present to meet Mr. Kohno, who had a private meeting with the Oxnard College group of Mr. Gregoryk, Vice President of College Services Eloy Oakley, Career Power Program/Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities Director Lucia Haro, Edward C. Rivera, the newly appointed Center for International Trade Development Director, Trade Specialist Kevin L. Santos-Coy and Japanese international student assistant Ai Sato. During the private meeting arranged by businessman Bill Irion of Irion Enterprises Mr. Kohno accepted an invitation to return to Ventura County to meet the international business community, to discuss student exchange programs, and to play a round of golf at Spanish Hills.
