VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE VCCCD OUTREACH BOOTH AT THE VENTURA COUNTY FAIR
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2 THROUGH SUNDAY, AUGUST 13, 2006
Volunteers are needed to represent Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura colleges at the "Cooperative Effort" outreach booth at the 2006 Ventura County Fair beginning Wednesday, August 2, and continuing through Sunday, August 13.
The "Cooperative Effort" booth at the Ventura County Fairgrounds opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m.
Free admission passes to the Fair will be provided to volunteers who work a THREE-HOUR shift at the booth located in the prime back wall exhibition area of the Commercial Building. By providing web access to the community colleges, we hope to target many of the adult fair-goers who walk through the Commercial Building each year and encourage them to ENROLL IN CLASSES AND PROGRAMS VIA ONLINE AND PHONE REGISTRATION.
During the weekdays of August 2 through August 4, and also August 7 through August 11, staff are needed to work at the booth during the prime hours of 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Shifts need to be staffed by at least two volunteers. On the weekends, which include Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5 and Aug. 6, and the final weekend of Aug. 12—13, staff are needed to cover the booth from 1 to 8 p.m., since the weekends are the busiest times for the County Fair events and concerts.
Right now, early volunteers are guaranteed to get the dates and times of their choosing.
