ART EXHIBIT SCHEDULED AT MCNISH GALLERY
Hundreds Attend McNish Gallery at Oxnard College for “Woman to Woman” Art Exhibit -- The exhibition, “Woman to Woman: Intergenerational Conversations about Art,” opened March 10 and features works by women members of the Oxnard College community, including administrators, faculty, and students. The show runs through April 16, 2009.
“I would like to thank the hundreds of people – students, faculty, staff and administration – who made the opening of our exhibition a success!” said Christine Morla, department chair for Fine Arts and one of the artists featured in the exhibit. “Special thanks to Peggy Tranovich (OC Art History) for curating the event in conjunction with the Women and Art course, participating artists Gwen Lewis-Huddleston, Eleanor Brown, Janet Neuwalder, Claudia Pardo, Julie Lovejoy, Janet Neuwalder, Gina Lawson-Egan, Jackie Cavish, Jenchi Wu, Lynn Gottesfeld, Maria Villote and Pamela Lamas. Thanks to OC Publications staff Keith Gonzales and Sarah Ramirez, Maintenance & Operations staff, Connie Campos, Cathy Garnica and all the students who volunteered to make this show a success.”
A special artists’ panel will be held Thursday, March 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the McNish Gallery for art-lovers who want to learn more about how all the women artists were inspired to create their paintings, sculpture pieces and installations. The McNish Art Gallery is located at 4000 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard, CA. 93033. Gallery hours are 4 to 6 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays.
Parking is available in the "A" parking lot off Simpson Drive.
