| Oxnard College Folklorico Mestizo to Perform at 16th Annual De Colores Art Show & Festival – The Folklorico Mestizo de Oxnard College will perform at the 16th Annual De Colores Art Show & Festival on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at the Artists Union Gallery in Ventura. The annual cultural event features 40 Latino artists displaying their artwork in booths, at a Children’s Art Corner and with various arts & crafts displays in and around the gallery located at 330 South California Street in Ventura. Mati Sanchez, Oxnard College English/ESL instructor and director of the Ballet Folklorico Mestizo, said that her troupe will perform with Conjunto Hueyapan – the Herrera Family musicians of Oxnard – between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the festival. The dancers will also perform with the Mariachi Aguilas de Mexico when they end the entertainment program between 5:30 and 6 p.m. The stage will be located on the walkway in front of the Crown Plaza Hotel off Harbor Blvd. in Ventura. Oxnard College Folklorico Mestizo will also perform later in the month, on April 24 and April 25, in LA-6 (The Forum) at Oxnard College. |
