OC RE-ENTRY CENTER OPENS; DISCOVERY DAY SET FOR AUG. 10, 2005
The Oxnard College Re-Entry Center re-opened for the 2005 Fall Semester and will be celebrated during a “Discovery Day” program on Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon in the OC Student Lounge located in the Community/Student Services Building. The center will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and offer the following services:
· Scholarship Program - A special Re-Entry Program scholarship is available for returning students at the beginning of each semester. Applications are accepted through the Re-Entry Center and selected by the Oxnard College Foundation Scholarship Committee;
· Personal Counseling - A licensed counselor will be available at no cost by appointment for re-entry students;
· Workshops -- The center will sponsor speakers from the community and workshop topics will focus on self-development, financial planning, communication skills, parenting, relationships and health issues;
· Mentor Program - Students will be matched with community members who have experience in a particular field or area of education that meets the student's goals.
