The McNish Art Gallery at Oxnard College is proud to present Structures, a solo art exhibition by Los Angeles Artist, Osvaldo Trujillo. The exhibition will be on view through December 1st.
Osvaldo Trujillo will present an intriguingly complex series of highly crafted drawings and mixed-media sculpture that straddle the line between the formal and organic, according to OC art instructor Christine Morla, coordinator of the McNish Gallery. " All the things that we see and experience in this world are structures, even ourselves,” said Trujillo. “We are living examples of our dimension and through our creations we exhibit its beauty and power as well as its limitations."
Trujillo has previously exhibited in shows at such Los Angeles galleries as POST, Patricia Correria Gallery, Peggy Phelps Gallery, The Brewery Project as well as the Frankfurt International Art Fair. He received his MFA degree at Claremont Graduate University and is currently a Professor of Art at Loyola Marymount University.
In conjunction with "Structures" is a second art exhibition of works by students currently enrolled in Advanced Drawing at Oxnard College. Aaron Dadacay, Jonathen Lopez, and Maria Villote will present highly rendered and layered mixed-media drawings on canvas in the McNish Gallery project space. Their works are branded with their own trademark of unusual stylized figures, and forms within a textural, abstract, colorful and atmospherically treated space in this project space show entitled, "My Metro-Pop World".
