February 2014:  Oxnard College Receives Continued Affirmation of Accreditation

Mid-Term Report October 2013

On February 7, 2014, Oxnard College received notification that the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) reaffirmed its accreditation. 

The decision to continue affirmation of accreditation was based on Oxnard College’s Mid-term Report  that was submitted to the ACCJC in October 2013, and confirmed by the February 2014 ACCJC Action Letter.

The next comprehensive evaluation for accreditation is scheduled for September 2016.  

February 2013:  Commission Removes Probation

The Accrediting Commission took action to remove probation and reaffirm accreditation per the February 2013 Action Letter. Congratulations to all who participated in addressing the concerns of the Commission and the resulting Follow-Up Visit Evaluation Report. It has been a truly collective effort by all to work to meet all the standards expected by our accreditation agency.

Spring 2012: Oxnard, Ventura and Moorpark Colleges Placed on Probation

In Spring 2012, all three colleges of the Ventura County Community College District, including Oxnard College, were placed on probation by the Commission. The colleges remain fully accredited while the colleges are on probation. Classes and credits continue to be transferable to other educational institutions. Eligible students are receiving financial aid. No accreditation issues exist in classroom education, and students are graduating with associate degrees and certificates.

October 2012: Follow Up Report

Oxnard College filed a Follow-Up Report, with supporting Evidence Documents, as well as a special report in response to the Commission's Concerns. The OC Accreditation Special Report and the Appendices to the Special Report were filed.

The ACCJC has sent letters to the college acknowledging receipt of the follow-up report and providing information about the upcoming accreditation team visit.
